Invisible Shield by Zagg for Apple iPad (Wi-Fi Only) Full Body Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim

When I bought the Apple iPad I knew that the first item I would get is a full body protector. The Invisible Shield by Zagg is one of the most popular brands. The screen protector protects against smudges, scratches, and dust. I put screen protectors on all my devices as they keep my gadgets looking like new. I mean no one wants a beat up device to look at especially when Apple makes such good looking products.

The Full Body protector I got was the easy install which includes front and back protectors. This version did not include side protectors. I believe the maximum protection version comes with side pieces.

The Screen protector is tad sticky so I used a little more of the included solution. I used the included applicator to push out most of the air bubble. Now you can’t get all the air bubbles out but after 2-3 days the ones remaining usually disappear. Whenever I apply a screen protector I tend to take my time as reapplying is harder than getting it right the first time.

The Invisible Shield by Zagg for Apple iPad is the perfect solution to protect your expensive new toy. I know with the Invisible Shield that my iPad will stay in great condition for years to come. If you plan on getting an iPad this a must buy purchase that you won’t regret.

EFO Bluetooth Handheld Keyboard and Mouse Touchpad Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim

I have reviewed the EFO RF and Wired Keyboard/Mouse Touchpad before but this one comes with wireless Bluetooth. The main difference between this one is the Bluetooth that has a 33 Feet range which makes it perfect for sitting back on the couch and navigate your HTPC on your big screen TV.

This model is similar to the RF and Wired versions. It does have slightly different keyboard layout. The chicklet buttons are fine for typing out words to surf the net. The keyboard has a backlit so it works fine at night as well. The mouse functions remarkably well with a large touchpad and up and down scroll along with right/left mouse buttons.

The device comes with a Bluetooth dongle to connect with your PC. I simply connected the Bluetooth dongle. And then I click on the Bluetooth icon and selected “My device is setup and ready to be found” checkbox and then hit next. The computer will search for the device. I had to turn the on/off switch to find the device. It asks you to choose a passkey. I chose 1234 since you had to type it really fast and then click enter/arrow key. If you can’t get Bluetooth to work the first time try to “Reset” the device using the bottom reset button. Once I got Bluetooth working it was much easier to connect the next time.

The EFO Bluetooth Handheld Keyboard and Mouse Touchpad is a perfect all in one keyboard, mouse, and remote for your HTPC. It is slim and works very well for its size. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to ditch the bulky keyboard and mouse for an all in on remote.

320GB C2 Portable Backup White

Clickfree makes backing up your data as easy as possible. I have checked out several of their products that I know you will be satisfied with this backup solution. The latest product from Clickfree is the C2 Portable Backup Drive. The one sent to me was the 320GB model.

The C2 Backup drive features hardware-based encryption and email attachment extraction. In addition it also allows for transfer of your iPod or iPhone content back to your PC. The drive includes a dock so it’s great to put at your desk and forget it. The usb cable is integrated into the drive making it impossible to lose.

The C2 works with PC and Mac. For Mac users you must have the drive formatted to work. The drive will search for your data, videos, music, photos, documents and more. Once done it will backup your data in a matter of an hour or so depending on the size of your hard drive.

The Clickfree C2 is a great solution for those who don’t want to do a lot of work backing up there data. It is dead simple to backup your data with little to no fuss. I would highly recommend this to everyone since backing up your data is more important than ever.

Saddleback Leather Gadget Pouch Large Carbon Black for iPad Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim

Saddleback Leather known for their quality leather products has just released their new Gadget Pouch for the iPad. The Leather Pouch comes in great colors like Dark Coffee brown, Chestnut, Tobacco Brown, Light Tobacco Brown, and Carbon Black. I was seriously digging the Dark Coffee Brown color but ending up choosing the Carbon Black version.

The case is extremely well made with thick full grain leather. The interior has a pigskin lining that is tough but won’t scratch up the device. The construction of the case with its thickness should provide shock absorption against abuse. The top is slightly curved for you to easily remove the iPad out of the case. The iPad slides nicely into case and fits the device like a glove. Saddleback says it best when the case is like a pistol in holster that is stretch to fit.

Saddleback Leather backs it’s product with a 100 year warranty. This shows their commitment to making quality products. The quality of leather that Saddleback Leather uses to the threading and construction sets the company apart from other manufacturers. The case sells for $41 which is not bad for a case that will last longer than the device.

The Saddleback Leather Gadget Pouch Large Carbon Black for iPad is the perfect high quality case that is built to last and looks great. I would put this at the top of list of best cases for the iPad currently available. If you’re looking for a no frills, minimalist designed leather pouch, with the best construction then the Saddleback Leather Gadget Pouch Large Carbon Black for iPad is right for you.

Brenthaven Bill-Fold iPad Sleeve Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim

I recently bought a new iPad and was looking for cases that would protect it. The Brenthaven Bill-Fold iPad Sleeve caught my eye right away. The Brenthaven iPad case is one of many I will review.

The Bill-Fold Sleeve case comes in variating colors. The website states that each case will be different from the other. The outside is made of a 100% recycled Billboard material with an abstract art like design. The interior is made of faux-suede liner to provide extra protection and not scratch up your iPad.

The Sleeve case lays flat when you get it and then you insert the iPad in it. On both sides of the iPad you will find Velcro which flaps over to seal each side. The case provides maximum protection against dust and accidental bumps that may damage the iPad.

The Brenthaven Bill-Fold iPad Sleeve is one of the most unique cases out there for the iPad. It also is environmentally-friendly using all recycled materials. In addition the case is made in America and comes with a lifetime warranty. I recommend this to anyone who wants a one of kind case for their iPad.

Miccus ChargeBlock for iPod/iPhone Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim

Everyone has experienced a time when their battery on their iPhone or iPod Touch is low. Sometimes when you travel you don’t have an outlet to charge it back up. This is the reason why there are many 3rd party battery packs. I have seen large ones that power these devices for a long time. But the problem is most of these are not easy to carry around with. The ChargeBlock by Miccus solves this problem.

The ChargeBlock is made of mostly hard plastic with a chrome trim. There is a lanyard so you can attach this to a keychain. The internal battery charges the device using the included usb cable. The quality of the ChargeBlock is quite good and is built to last.

The ChargeBlock will charge your iPod Touch or iPhone when you need some extra juice. This battery pack attaches directly to the device. It is small and lightweight and can be used while you’re using the device. Also I like the fact there is no extra cables to lose. The device also has an overcharging preventing technology so you know that the device will not overcharge.

The ChargeBlock is a simple solution to provide extra battery life for you iPod/iPhone. I highly recommend this to anyone who has the on the go type of life. The small, sleek, fast charging battery is a must for any iPhone and iPod owner.

Maverick Nica Bluetooth Headset (Black) Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
$129.95 Retail Headset
$39 Retail Car Charger

When I first saw the Nica Bluetooth Headset I noticed the beautiful minimalist design and thought I would give it a try. The headset retails for $129.95 but sells online for cheaper. The headset also has a cool car adapter that is sold separately.

The Nica Bluetooth headset features a nice circular shape compared to the elongated shaped Jawbone. Also the Nica headset doesn’t insert into the ear, rather it just sits over the ear and provides open air acoustics. The open air feature allows for a larger speaker.

The call quality is great on this headset. I have called several people with headset on and everyone has said the reception was excellent. The only thing it lacks is noise isolation since the headset doesn’t insert into ear.

The best part of the headset is the unique magnetic car adapter. The headset connects through magnets directly to the car adapter. This allows quick charging of the headset and easy removal.

The Maverick Nica Bluetooth Headset is a nice premium headset that features a nice design, crystal clear clean sound, and great call quality. If your in market for a bluetooth headset then consider the Maverick Nica Bluetooth Headset as one of the best options.

Efo Wired and Wireless handheld keyboard, mouse and touchpad Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
EFO Wired Keyboard $22 EFO Wireless RF Keyboard $40

We take a look at two products today, the wired usb model and RF wireless model of the all in one HTPC keyboard, mouse, and touchpad. The main difference between the two is one uses RF 2.4GHz DSSS radio transceiver 10M/32ft range while the wired model uses a simple USB connection.

The two Efo handheld keyboards and touchpad’s are near identical in the package. The wireless version comes with a dongle while the wired model comes with only an usb cable.
The device is similar to typing on say a Blackberry. I use my thumbs and can type pretty well on the little device. The device has a large touchpad area that feels similar to a laptop touchpad. The left and right mouse buttons are below the touchpad. There is an on/off switch and an usb charging port.

Both devices are plug and play and no need of a driver when using XP. These all-in-one devices from EFO are perfect for HTPC where you can control the PC with the mouse function. And use the mini keyboard to type on. This device is also useful for laptops and PCs. Say a college student wanted to watch a movie on their computer. All they have to do is pick up the EFO keyboard and navigate their PC from the couch or bed.

Overall I am very impressed in the EFO wireless/wired keyboard and touchpad. The device is dead simple to use and very convenient. Anyone who has a HTPC and a big screen TV will love this device. It’s a small keyboard/mouse combo that is perfect for HTPC users.

LogiPen LogiNotes Digital Pen Input Device Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
$129.99 retail now $98.50

I have always been an avid note taker. I like the convenience of paper and pen. The new Digital Pen’s allows me to write notes on traditional paper yet throw the same notes into my computer for saving and conversion.

The LogiPen was very simple to use. I simply plugged the receiver using the included usb cable to charge the internal battery for 12hrs. Once I was finished I attached the receiver to a notepad. All I had to do is write like I normally would and push the button on the receiver to save the page. Then I just turn the page and take another note. You can also connect the device by USB and directly write notes on your computer. In addition the device has a mouse mode which acts as a mouse for your computer.

The LogiPen unlike a similar product actually feels like a pen. The other product I am talking about feels more like your holding a marker than a pen. Also with the LogiPen I write normally while the other pen I tried I had to adjust my writing style.

The LogiPen comes with two software programs that are very helpful. First the LogiManage which manage your notes, download your notes, screen capture your notes and browse your notes. The second software is MyScript Notes which can convert printed and cursive handwritten notes to text. I tried this feature and the software converted the note 100% accuracy. Now since cursive notes vary person to person it will be less accurate depending on your writing style.

Any avid note taker will love this digital pen especially students and business people who are frequently jotting down notes. The LogiPen is great for people who like to write notes on paper but want to look up their notes at a later date on their computer. I have tried digital pens before but the LogiPen is the best one that I have tried. I highly recommend this to anyone who writes a lot of notes and wants to organize it in a digital copy.
