I was looking for Kindle 2 case that offers complete protection against falls, dust, and slim. The CaseCrown EBook reader case was just up my alley. This is a new case from CaseCrown that uses memory foam to protect your gadget.

Design: I chose the checkered style of case since I got sick of reviewing all black cases. The checkered style gives the case some personality. The CaseCrown name is stitched into the front horizontally. The Kindle 2 fits perfectly into the case. It has two clear plastic attachments on top and two bendable fabrics on bottom. The case also has one large pouch opposite the eBook reader which could be useful for a notepad to take notes on an eBook.

Function: If you ever purchased one of the Tempur-Pedic Foam pillows you know the underlying technology behind the Case Crown case. The memory foam provides cushions for falls. The case zips up so it protects the entire case. This is good for dust getting inside the eBook reader. I hate it when dust gets underneath the screen on my gadgets. Plus the case is water resistant.

Conclusion: The CaseCrown E-Book Reader Slim Case is a no frills case that just works. It protects your eBook reader from wear and tear. It’s easy to travel with and stylish enough to take with anywhere. This is the type of case that I would purchase for myself. It provides maximum protection to keep my Kindle2 looking new.

Rebit 160 GB Backup Appliance Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
$149.95
http://www.rebit.com/products-portable.html
Buy this if the computer to be backed up has a 160 GB or smaller hard drive.
Once you plug the Rebit backup appliance into your computer’s USB port, simply click “ok” to enable its software to run, and that’s it.
Rebit backs up everything, from pictures to e-mails, even your applications, settings and operating system. You don’t do anything. There are no schedules to set, no backup media to set up.
Moments after a file is created or deleted, Rebit will back it up. It will even back up versions of files so that you can recover if you accidentally save over a file. And if you unplug Rebit, it will automatically catch up from where it left off once you plug it back in again.

I was looking for a backup solution since my hard drives always dies in a couple of years. And losing important files is not a great thing to have. Rebit is a company that sells products specific to backup solutions. They offer portable drives and desktop drives of all sizes. I ended up getting the 160GB version for $149.95.

Design: There are two version drives to choose from. The desktop is a little bigger drives with included ac adapter. While the portable drives are powered by USB only. The portable version has two usb ends to make sure there is enough power to run the drive. Also Rebit is nice to include a free case to protect the drive when you travel. The drive is overall small, slim, and you can carry it anywhere with you that your laptop goes.

Function: I am always looking for the simplest solution I can find. Something where I don’t have to read a big manual of step by step instructions. Instead I prefer software and hardware that just works with a few clicks of the mouse. And that’s where the Rebit shines. Simple connect the Rebit drive using the included usb cable and hit okay and your all ready to go.

Conclusion: Any who owns a computer knows that when a hard drive fails and you forget to backup your files then you are in a terrible situation. Many people save a lot of history on their computer but forget to protect it. Rebit can save your files and when the time comes to recover your most prize files then you have insurance that it will be stay protected.

Jaybird Tiger Eyes Earbuds w/ Microphone Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
$89
http://www.jaybirdgear.com/earphone-features-TE1.php

The Tiger Eyes earbuds feature 8mm high performance neodymium drivers. JayBird pushed the limits of acoustics to produce the balance of sound an athlete needs to push through the next barrier. Great bass, crystal clear clarity and presence of sound you’ll swear your listening live.
Engineered for those who enjoy rich, true to life sound with exceptionally warm bass. Surround yourself with your favorite music and experience it like never before. Turn it up and work-out with perfect sound isolation.
The Tiger Eyes include a mic with answer and volume control for use with iPhone or any other phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Music fades out while you take your call and fades back in when you’re done.
“Spare no expense” was the mantra for the Tiger Eyes Earbuds. They feature a special titanium coating over the speaker diaphragms. The result? … you’ve just got to witness them to be a believer of how astounding and true to life the sound reproduction really is. The titanium coating contributes to a clear, crisp, true to life experience.
Additionally, regular speaker diaphragms deteriorate over time and get muffled just like the standard speaker diaphragms in a car. This becomes even more pronounced with personal audio products used for sports with sweat and moisture exposure. Most athletes don’t realize the deterioration over time. Titanium protection mean they keep pumping out the bass year after year without distortion. The Tiger Eyes may very well be the last earphones you’ll ever buy.
JayBird extends a LIFETIME warranty against sweat on all products. We back your committment as an the athlete so use them as you like.
Run in the rain, what ever, we’ve got you covered.
Okay now that I have reviewed the Jaybird Endorphin headphones, now I put my sight on the Jaybird Tiger Eyes earphones with mic. The Tiger eyes are similar to the Endorphin only it has a microphone for phone and media/phone controls.

Design: Both the Endorphin and Tiger Eyes come in box that usually offered for high end mp3 players like the iPod Touch or Zune. This makes it ideal for gift giving or stocking stuffers. The earphones are built solid with a thick cord and comfortable earpieces. The earphones have a physical volume control slider.

Function: With the Tiger Eyes geared toward the iPhone and other Smartphone’s, the Tiger Eyes has slightly lower sound and bass then the Endorphin earphones. The sound clarity seems to be good for me and the person on the other line. This is due to the titanium drivers that make these sound better. The earphones also come with a lifetime warranty against sweat.

Conclusion: This is a must for anyone who owns an iPhone 3GS. It has the sound quality and build quality to last while offering up phone controls to talk with friends and family. So if you need an earphone and mic then the Tiger Eyes is the better choice. For Touch2 owners the Endorphin will likely be better. Though you can use the Tiger eyes for your iPods. Plus it’s $10 cheaper than the Endorphin earphones. In the end you won’t be disappointed by these under $100 Tiger Eyes earphone with mic.

If you need a good pair of earphones for the gym then read on to this review of the Jaybird Endorphin Rush. The Endorphin Rush includes a lifetime warranty against sweat so you gym rats can be happy to know these will be well worth the price.

Design: Let’s start with the packaging, it is a durable box that looks like a Zune or iPod would go in it. It gives the appearance of a high end item. And the packaging makes it great for gift giving. The earphones include a case, cable manager, optional ear hooks, and six pairs of ear tips. Every part of the earphones feels solid and looks like they last a long time. The earphones run over your ear and behind your back making the earphones less noticeable.

Function: The Endorphin Rush was above average when it came to sound in this class of earphones. This model has a step up in bass driven by 10mm high performance neodymium drivers. They work best with hip hop and electronic type of music but should work fine with other genres also.

Conclusion: At only $99 with free shipping they compare nicely to other earphones that can cost $200-$300. These are geared towards the active person who workouts at the gym or runs miles. And those who like bass cannot find better earphones for this purpose.

Macally Pebble Wireless Laser Mouse Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
$29.99
http://www.macally.com/
I was looking for a mouse for my HP 2140 Netbook when I came upon the Pebble mouse by Macally. This mouse can be used with either Mac or PC.

Design: The Pebble mouse is an attractive mouse that is black with silver accents. It is very sleek and would work well with Apple laptops because it’s very minimist in design. The mouse runs on 2 AAA batteries and included is a receiver. For easy travel the mouse rotates 90 degrees for the hidden compartment for the usb receiver and to insert the AAA batteries.

Function: As this is somewhat geared as an Apple’s Mighty Mouse replacement it does not have a lot of bells and whistle. It has two buttons and a scroll wheel. Connecting the mouse with the receiver only took less than a minute.

Conclusion: For travel this laptop mouse beats most. Because the receiver goes inside the mouse when traveling you won’t loose any parts. It is also small and sleek in design. And works great with either Mac or PC laptops. At only $29 it’s well worth the price.

Design: The 4GB model comes in Turquoise while the 8GB comes in black. The plastic looks to be very durable. Instead of a separate cap that might get lost. The top plastic pushes forward to cover the usb connection. The clip on the other end can be hooked up to your backpack or pants belt loop.
