musiccard02.jpg
Intro: Music lover’s rejoice the Music Card has arrived. A dap that features music first. This is one of the thinnest, smallest players I’ve seen, yet packs in tons of features. Comparisons with the Ipod nano are bound to happen. But I have to say after reading this review. You will know which will end up on top.

musiccard03.jpg
musiccard04.jpg
Design: The Meizu M3 has a glossy black front with similar touch strip to the Creative Vision along with a 1.5” screen. On the back you will find a mirror finish that is a tad prone to scratching. One of the first things you will notice is just how thin it is at a mere 7mm Thick. Overall the design is top notch.

Firmware: Meizu is one of the few company’s that constantly tries to improve it’s players through firmware updates adding new features and fixing current problems.

GUI: The interface is identical to the Meizu M6. Simple scroll with the touch strip. The lack of buttons at times makes for mistakes. It is often difficult what button does what. Also the touch strip is super sensitive so you may end up click on something you didn’t want to. Overall the interface is good but has room for improvement.

Battery life: Battery is rated around 20hrs

Video: While not a feature that is promoted as a feature. Videos can be played back on the device through the browser. Considering the screen size. I would say it’s a nice added bonus that the Nano does not have. But not something that would be used much. The player supports AVI video files and requires conversion.

musiccard05.jpg
Audio: Lossless fans can take heart that the Meizu M3 supports lossless WMA, OGG, and flac support. As well as popular mp3 and wma support. The audio quality of the player superb even surpassing the first Ipod nano.

musiccard07.jpg
Pictures: Photos are displayed in a thumbnails which you can click on to make full screen.

musiccard06.jpg
FM Radio: Unlike the Meizu M6 the Meizu M3 radio perform much better. The FM tuner was found to be clear and reception to be very good.

musiccard09.jpg
musiccard08.jpg
Additional features: A handy calendar and voice recording.

musiccard10.jpg
Conclusion: The Meizu M3 Music Card is an excellent alternative to the Ipod Nano. It offers less features than the Meizu M6 but focuses more on Music and easy portability at an excellent price. With the 8GB model you can have your entire music collection with you when your on the go. I highly recommend this player and everyone going out getting it now.

neonm313.jpg
What’s in the box:
Player, Stereo Earphone, USB Cable, Charger, Utility CD, Manual, Warranty card

I was given the opportunity to be the first to try out Latte Communications Latte Neon M3 MP4 player. First impression is it has the same LG Chocolate style.

neonm302.jpg
neonm303.jpg
neonm309.jpg
Design: Like stated before the Latte Neon M3 MP4 player has a very Chocolate style to it. With Heat Sensor Navigation Keys that glow red. The player is all black with a glossy front and matte black back that is less prone to scratching. The front is dominated by a large 2.4” QVGA TFT display that can display 320×240 resolution. Small and compact this MP4 player is small enough to carry anywhere.

neonm304.jpg
GUI: I was impress with the interface. Its looks a bit like the XMB cross media bar on the PSP but only with up down motions.

neonm305.jpg
Audio: First off this is one of the few MP4 that has an actually built in speaker that is crystal clear. Audio quality through headphones is also excellent and comparable to other flash players on the market.

neonm307.jpg
Video: The screen is amazingly bright and crystal clear. The 2.4” screen makes it perfect for video with smooth playback at 24 Frames per second. Included is a conversion software “AVI Converter Setup V3.0” to convert over to the AVI format.

Pictures: Pictures look great on the 2.4” Screen. JPEG is the supported format.

Expandable: The Latte Neon M3 MP4 features Transflash/MicroSD slot for added memory space.

neonm306.jpg
Game: Included is a very good Tetris clone that provides hours of fun.

neonm308.jpg
FM Radio: FM Radio reception is excellent on this player. But before you search for available stations make sure to plug in the earphone as that is used as the antenna. FM radio can not be used with the speaker do to this. So earphones is required.

neonm310.jpg
Voice Recording: There is a Mic on top of the unit next to the power button for voice recording. You can record in either high or normal quality. You can also set the volume from 1-5 setting.

neonm311.jpg
Text: The player can also be used as a text ebook reader.

neonm312.jpg
Conclusion: The Latte Neon M3 is an excellent flash player that I would recommend to anyone. With expanded flash memory through T-Flash memory card slot, Speaker, Screen quality, and Audio Quality. There’s nothing that this player can’t do. The design is top notch and features are everything you would want in a little player.

BodyGuardz for Apple iPhone Review

bodyguardziphone.jpg
Reviewed by K.C. Kim
Price: $24.95
http://www.bodyguardz.com/BodyGuardz_for_Apple_iPhone_p/nl-baip-0407.htm

bodyguardziphone01.jpg
BodyGuardz are a clear film that covers the body of an Apple iPhone providing scratch protection from outside elements. Designed to custom fit each particular device, these protectors are made from the same material that is used to protect the front of automobiles from stones and other abrasive elements.

Tough and durable, you can be assured that your device is protected by BodyGuardz. Easy to apply, BodyGuardz are designed to offer a shield of protection to your device while letting the beauty and design of the device shine through. BodyGuardz are optically clear. The protection remains transparent without distorting the dimension or design of your iPhone. Whether its keys in your pocket or that occasional drop, BodyGuardz will protect the exterior of your device from scratches.

Your iPhone covered by BodyGuardz WILL fit into your iPhone Dock. Another great advantage of BodyGuardz skins.

bodyguardziphone03.jpg
Intro: No matter how hard I try the gadgets that I used end up being scratched up. Even a case does not help. As you pull the electronics in and out of the pouch, scratches and abrasions happen. This is why a screen protector that protects the entire gadget is important. Most people tend to apply a screen protector that only protects the screen. This is a big mistake as the scratches can happen on the body of the unit as well. Enter a product like BodyGuardz. A product that protects the entire device.

bodyguardziphone02.jpg
Installation: Very important check out the video first on the website. I found it very helpful. Installation was very simple process. Apply solution on hands then gently remove screen protector off the paper back. Make sure to spray solution on sticky side of screen protector. Apply the front and back screen protectors. This was easier with the included solutions. As I can gently move the screen protector into the correct position. Unlike other screen protectors which have no solution and give in one shot at correctly applying it. Probably the most difficult part of applying the screen protectors was the edges. It takes the most time to dry. But once it’s applied it set and you have a shiny full body screen protector applied to your iPhone.

bodyguardziphone04.jpg
Conclusion: I don’t know about you but when I purchase a $500-$600 phone, I want it to look just like new a year from now. BodyGuardz protects your investment. And in my opinion is the first thing you should get after getting the iPhone. It was simple to apply that even I didn’t mess it up unlike other screen protectors. And plus you get 2 sets of protectors so you won’t need another one for awhile.

Intro: I have tried quite a few noise-canceling headphones in the past. But always been disappointed. Then I heard about Able Planet’s Clear Harmony Noise Canceling Headphones, which gain quite a few positive reviews. And thought I take a hand’s on review of the CES Innovations Design and Engineering award winning headphones.

ableplanet02a.jpg
ableplanet03a.jpg
What’s in the box:
Active noise canceling headphones
Hard shell protective carrying case making them ideal for travel around the corner, or around the world
In Line volume control
Dual pin airline adapter
¼ Inch stereo adapter
2 AAA alkaline batteries

ableplanet05.jpg
ableplanet06.jpg
Design: The first thing I noticed when I took the headphones out of the box was just how good quality the headphones are. They feel every bit like $300 headphones. They are also quite light for it’s size. And most importantly they feel comfortable for use for long periods of time.

ableplanet07.jpg
ableplanet08.jpg
Sound: Having tested this with a variety of devices I can honestly say the quality of sound is excellent. This is due to the Linx Audio Patented technology, which greatly improves sound. You can also use these headphones as normal headphones or kick in the active noise canceling with a flick of a switch.

ableplanet09.jpg
Noise Canceling: Obviously the main feature would be noise canceling. And how well it works. Well I went on a trip to Korea for a week. And the flight there was a lot more pleasant with the Able Planet’s Clear Harmony Noise Canceling Headphones on the plane. The Headphones drowned out most of the background noise during the flight. So this would be perfect for the frequent flyer.

ableplanet10.jpg
Conclusion: The Able Planet’s Clear Harmony Noise Canceling Headphones are by far the best noise canceling headphones I’ve tried. And I have to say I prefer them over my Bose headphones. For the traveler these would be close to perfect. The price is a bit high but you get what you pay for and with these headphones you get a whole lot.

SimpleTech SimpleDrive External Hard Drive Designed by Pininfarina Review

* Slim, compact & stylish (designed by Pininfarina)
* Hi-Speed USB 2.0
* One-Click™ backup button
* Built-in capacity meter
* Plug n’ Play and Hot-Swappable
* Free and unlimited technical support

The sleek lines and ultra-low profile styling of the new SimpleDrive™ were designed by Pininfarina, the very same design firm that gives Ferrari sports cars their stylish lines.

Don’t let its beauty fool you. SimpleDrive is a high-performance external hard drive ideal for storing and backing up your music, video, photos and more. And with Hi-Speed USB 2.0, setup is a snap and data transfer rates are fast and reliable.

One-Click™ backup enables you to back up and protect all or selected files with a single click, providing the peace of mind knowing your digital world is safe and protected. And the built-in capacity meter allows you to view the utilized disk space.

Capacity: I still remember when 10GB hard drive was consider big. That’s not the case today. Beefier drives like the Simpletech SimpleDrive go up to a huge 500 GB capacity. With 750GB and 1TB drives in the near future.

500GB SimpleDrive External Hard Drive – Designed by Pininfarina 500 GB Onyx SP-U35/500
250GB SimpleDrive External Hard Drive – Designed by Pininfarina 250 GB Pearl SP-U35/250
160GB SimpleDrive External Hard Drive – Designed by Pininfarina 160 GB Fire SP-U35/160

Just to give you an overview of how much you can store on this external drive. Here is a chart

Capacity** Songs** Photos** Video** HD Video**
160GB 40,000 117,000 173 Hrs. 15 Hrs.
250GB 63,000 183,000 271 Hrs. 30 Hrs.

**Results based on average compression. Actual results will depend on device model, quality and compression. HD video is based on 720p or 1080 video output with 8.3GB/hour recording date

simpletechsimpledrive02.jpg
Included in the box:
USB 2.0 3.5” External Hard Drive with One-Click Backup Software
USB 2.0 Cable
AC Adapter
Resource CD

Requirements: Both Windows and Mac users will be happy to know that the drives works with both.

Macintosh
• Available USB 2.0 or 1.1 Port
• Mac OS v9.0 or later, built for Mac OS X

Windows
• Available USB 2.0 or 1.1 Port
• Windows 2000/XP and Vista

Intro: I always thought that my 80 GB hard drive would be good enough space to have everything on it. But as the programs, games, videos, mp3, documents add up I found very little space left over. This is the beauty of an external drive. No opening up your pc to install. Simply connect it to the usb2.0 port and you have just added tons of space.

Next I just didn’t want any external hard drive. I wanted one that would look just as sleek as my laptop. The SimpleTech was the solution. Unlike its competitors which look big, bulky, boxy and take up space. The SimpleTech is simply big on features yet small and compact with a wonderful design.

simpletechsimpledrive03.jpg
simpletechsimpledrive04.jpg
Design: The SimpleDrive does not look like your average external hard drive. This is due to the fact that it was design by Italian design team Pininfarina, the same design firm behind the Ferrari sports cars. Which translate to sleeker curves, stylish colors, and world class design that you want to show off to others.

simpletechsimpledrive06.jpg
simpletechsimpledrive07.jpg
Installation: First take the ac charger and connect it to the back of the drive. Next connect the USB2.0 cable to the PC. The drive should show up under my computer. Next install the software that is on the external hard drive. There is a PC and Mac version. I chose PC version of Total Media Backup & Record. One reboot later and you’re done. Now you can use the drive any way you want.

Function: The software included can provide backup, restore, and DVD/cd burning software. You can also drag and drop data into the drive and make folders just like your internal drive.

simpletechsimpledrive08.jpg
simpletechsimpledrive09.jpg
simpletechsimpledrive10.jpg
Backup: Easily backup data from your PC to your SimpleDrive External Hard Drive. You can backup videos, audio, photo, email, and more and even schedule daily, weekly, or monthly backups.

Extras: Included with the drive is a free 2GB account on myfabrik.com

simpletechsimpledrive05.jpg
Conclusion: The amount of storage you get for the price of under $100 for the 160GB model is amazing. As well as the other drives price competively. The design is by far the best I’ve seen for an external drive and backup solution is essential to take care of files that can’t be replaced in the off chance your computer hard drives fail. So if you want more space for your laptop or PC then the SimpleTech SimpleDrive might be right for you as well as bring up a touch of style and design.

Stainless Steel MP3 Watch (1GB) Review

brandomp3watch01.jpg
Reviewed by K.C.
US$74.40
http://watch.brando.com.hk

Streamlined design Men’s MP3 watch reflecting the image of basic. Stainless steel face equipped with Play/Stop buttons is fusion of high-tech and decent. It also features a built-in voice recorder.

brandomp3watch02.jpg
# Features: Storage capacity: 1GB
# Stainless steel case and watch band
# Support format: MP3 (MPEG1/2, layer3) +U Disk
# Battery: Built-in Hi Li-ion rechargeable 170mAh/3.7V Battery
# Battery life: More than 9 hours continuous playing time when fully charged
# High Quality record: Recording doc. saved in VOIC by WMA format, Link-in doc. saved in LINE-IN file by WMA format too
# USB Transmission Rate: USB2.0
# MP3 Compression Rate: 32Kbps to 256Kbps

# SNR: >=90dB
# Earphone Output: 8MW+8MW
# Operating Platform: Window98/Me/NT/2000/XP Mac 8.6 or above
# Contents: Watch drive, USB cables, earphone

Intro: Want to carry your music around with you but don’t have any pockets to put it in. Then take a look at Brando’s Stainless Steel Mp3 Watch. Looking like your normal quartz watch the Brando MP3 Watch has 1GB of memory to store MP3’s on. So you get the style of an expensive watch with the function of a full feature MP3 player.

brandomp3watch03.jpg
Design: Most of the MP3 watches look more like a toy that a kid would wear. This is not the case with the Brando Mp3 watch. Made of Stainless steel the watch looks like any other watch that you will find in a retail store.

Like stores that sell watches the watch is fit for the largest of wrists. You remove links which will make the steel band smaller. If this is too difficult of a task you can have it resized at a jewelry section at a retail store for a small fee.

brandomp3watch04.jpg
Function: The Mp3 watch when connected to a pc shows up as a removable disk. Simply drag and drop mp3 songs on to the watch and your good to go. Sound quality was average. The mp3 watch also has FM radio, voice recording, and battery was not bad at around 9 hrs. You should be able to fit around 240 songs on the 1GB space.

brandomp3watch05.jpg
Conclusion: Overall a nice watch/mp3 player combo. It’s understated to not look like an mp3 player watch. So you don’t have to be a geek to wear this. It would work fine in casual to formal settings. And I found it very convenient to listen to tunes on the go.
